This weekend I finally made it The Greenwich Union, a pub that had been on my ever growing list of places to drink beer in London. I knew The Union was the brewery tap for the Meantime Brewing Company, so I expected good beer. What I did not expect was such outrageously good food. The homemade 28 day aged Angus burger was great, the chips brought things to a whole new level, and the crumbed cod fillet was the second best fried fish I’ve had all year (after the red snapper in Puerto Rico, of course). I just can’t get that fried cod out of my mind. It was luscious, moist, and meaty, with an exquisitely crispy casing. With delicious, varied local beer, an excellent pub burger, and amazing fish and chips, I think The Greenwich Union may be the perfect pub.
