Secret Journeys of a Lifetime is grandpa approved.
I just received my copy of Secret Journeys of a Lifetime, the newest installment in National Geographic’s series of image-driven travel books. The book is absolutely stunning and its 500 entries detail travel destinations that are relatively off the beaten track. Many of the illustrated entries make me want to pack my bags and head for a distant land and I hope my contributions have the same impact. I wrote about some of my favorite places on earth including Turkey’s Soğanlı Valley, Puglia’s Valle d’Itria, the ruined Roman city of Palmyra in Syria, the remote islands of the Venetian Lagoon, and more. You can find Secret Journeys of a Lifetime on Amazon and in a bookstore near you.
I get a serious itch to travel (and eat) when I read your writing. I’m (fingers crossed) planning a trip to Sicily later this year and I’m basically bringing everything you’ve ever written about the island with me. Oh and congrats on the book! Sounds awesome!
