From October 18, 2007-February 3, 2008 the Borghese Gallery in Rome will be hosting an exhibit on the Neo-Classical artist Antonio Canova. Nearly fifty works by the artist will join Canova’s renowned Pauline Bonaparte, which is part of the Gallery’s permanent collection and celebrating its bicentennial. Central to the exhibit is the relationship between Canova and his patrons the Bonapartes and Prince Camillo Borghese. Canova’s works form the centerpieces of the Gallery’s halls and are grouped together by theme and subject.
